Endowment Funds

Agape Respite Care provides 25,000 hours of care annually and the need continues to grow. The number of people needing financial assistance continues to grow, too. Because we recognize the need for families to have continued support and care through out life, the board created an Agape Respite Care Endowment Fund through The Adams County Community Foundation and the Wells Community Foundation. The endowment funds produce income for Agape Respite Care to help ensure care is available for generations to come. Through your support we can guarantee quality care and quality of life for children and adults with disabilities and their families well into the future.

There are several ways to give to the Respite Care Endowment Fund:

  1. Cash
Commonly, gifts are made by cash or check.
  2. Bequests
A charitable gift may be made by simply naming Agape Respite Care as a beneficiary in your will. A bequest may be for a specific sum, a percentage, or the residue of an estate, and may consist of cash, securities, life insurance proceeds, real estate and/or personal property.
  3. End of life – Memorial Gifts
Families may choose to honor the life of a family member who has died by designating memorial gifts to Agape Respite Care. The family may specify funds for endowment, operating or benevolence fund or that the funds be used at the discretion of the Agape Respite Care Board of Directors.
  4. Investment Assets
Stocks and bonds, retirement funds, real estate and other property, if they have grown in value, make it possible to give a larger donation for less cost and may even provide you with tax benefits.
  5. Life Insurance
Gifts of life insurance are a great way to leverage your giving. Donate paid-up life insurance policies with cash values, or new policies, with the Agape Respite Care Endowment Fund named as the owner and the beneficiary.
  6. Corporate Gifts
If you are an owner or CEO of a business, you might consider making a corporate gift through which you may derive federal tax benefits as well as additional benefits.
  7. Corporate Matching Gifts
Some corporations provide a matching amount for an employee contribution. If your company provides this benefit it is a great way to increase your donation. To find out if your company or spouse’s company offers a matching gift program, contact the company’s Human Resources office.
