Executive Director – Agape Respite Care, Inc. September 14, 2016 – October 26, 2016 Location: Agape Respite Care is located in Berne, Indiana, a small charming Swiss community with a distinctive heritage. The community of 10,000 in southern Adams County weaves together its rich Swiss ancestry with the influence of Old Oder Amish in the surrounding countryside. Berne has outstanding 4 star schools, a National Blue Ribbon High School 2015 and 2016 Best High School Ranking by U.S. News & World Report. The local Farmer’s market, unique community businesses or larger retail stores are within easy access. Churches, quality health care, wellness facility and retirement living are readily available. Type: Full-time salaried position Description: Founded in 1992, Agape Respite Care's mission is a commitment to provide care and support services across the life span for persons with intellectual and physical disabilities to enable them to live in their chosen community. Agape Respite Care is a certified provider of Indiana Medicaid Waiver services with programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Nationally recognized as a leader in respite design, Agape has provided quality services and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1992. With an annual budget of $475,000 and a staff of 33, Agape Respite Care serves approximately 88 individuals and their families through respite care at the Agape Home at 298 N. Forest Park Dr. in Berne, Residential Services in their personal/ family residence in the Berne area, Participant Care and Assistance, and Community Habilitation through the Summer Adventures in Learning program. The Agape Sports League has approximately 52 players in the summer baseball program and 25 participants in Agape Buddy Bowling. The organization provides services primarily to Adams, Allen, Jay and Wells counties. However, some respite guests come from Northern Indiana Elkhart County to Morgan County in southern Indiana. For more information, please visit Position- Executive Director (ED) Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Agape Respite Care's staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. S/he will initially develop deep knowledge of the Indiana Medicaid Waiver System through the Indiana Family Social Service Administration, Bureau of Developmental Disabilities and Rehabilitative Services, various case management agencies, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Agape Respite Care’s programs, operations, and business plans.
